Day 9

In part of my daily reading I read a chapter that reminded me that this is a process and if I focus on the distance between where I am and where I want to be, it can be demotivating. I need to focus on taking a step at a time and thinking about the small mini-goal that is on the 1% change slope in the direction I want to go.

I think I needed that read today as while I did meet my goal yesterday- my mini-goal- a part of me is realizing it is a shit ton work still ahead to get to making a real difference in my weight – and I need to stay the course and remind myself this is actually a life changing process – to get into the healthier habits I need and to see the weight progress along the way – not an instant fix. I am impatient at the best of times and am a perfectionist, all-or-nothing type personality- I sometimes tend to resist things that take forever to accomplish even though I have proven I can dedicate to long training times as evidenced by my marathon and my actuarial designation – need to remind myself I can do this.

My mini goal is today and my future self tomorrow morning will have accomplished the following:

  • Oatmeal and blueberries for breakfast
  • Buffalo chicken meatballs and salad for lunch
  • Turkey zucchini skillet over cauliflower rice for dinner
  • Lemon, ginger, honey, tumeric, cayenne pepper drink at tv tonight – dry night
  • I did an 18k bike ride this morning so physical fitness done for day

I will stay the course but I think these first few weeks will require me to buckle down with some real momentum to carry me through (and remind myself the momentum has already started – I have 9 days of check in under my belt already!)
