I am on a streak and am very happy about that. Even into the weekends which has been my achilles heel in terms of staying on track so I will take the pride and win in being consistent.
Speaking of consistency, I read a good quote this morning that the only thing that stands between where I am today and how I’d like to be is consistent action. Small steps, repeated regularly. There was another similar quote that I came across – success is nothing more than a few disciplines practiced everyday. Failure is simply a few errors in judgement repeated every day. I feel like I am starting to be consistent in a few areas that I believe are on the path to weight loss:
- journaling and setting intention
- meal planning and looking in fridge and planning meals for day
- affirmations and visualizations to help reinforce the change I want to see
- exercising at least 4 times a week
I need to increase my consistency in alcohol reduction – this will benefit me in so many ways on this journey – health and weight. I think I have been resisting the notion of being a non-drinker. That doesn’t seem who I am and it feels like that’s not who I aspire to be. But I do aspire to being someone who drinks infrequently and who has multiple nights during the week of no wine/mocktails/tea. I need to focus on being in alignment with who I want to be in this regard and not resist the change to something much less. Will try for 3 dry days during the week and 1-2 glasses per day on the weekend.
My plan for today:
- eggs and toast for breakfast
- soup and salad for lunch
- steak kebabs and salad for dinner
- 8k hike up and down mountain today
- new mocktail for afternoon
I came across an advertisement for a drink called Barbet – sparkling water but varieties like ginger, jalapeño, pineapple and cucumber. Will try those and will head to a market today that carries Ones wine – need to stock up on the N/a versions of drinks that I otherwise would like.
